Mavens has built a variety of pieces of proprietary technology to mine the Internet for data, analyse the results, and visualise it for presentation to businesses. This constantly-evolving suite of tools is called MavensKit, but it contains several discrete pieces of powerful software within it.
The ultimate goal of these applications is to enable our analysts and clients to be able to act based on a clear picture of the situation. Making effective use of the technologies that underpin the web is crucial to delivering online strategies with real impact.
Semantic Index
The Semantic Index is the engine room of MavensKit: a database of human-classified words and phrases with attached metadata. Covering multiple business sectors, and constantly expanding, it allows Mavens to understand broad behavioural trends, topic interests & content needs, and socio-demographic differences globally.
Map Generator
Map Generator works to develop an understanding of connections and communities online. Looking at various measures of site authority, it uses the Semantic Index to determine the top sites in a given area, and then uncovers how they link to and from one another. It is a key element of any programme that involves the development or maintenance of, or engagement with, a digital network.
Search Monitor
Search Monitor tracks user searches and search engine indices across the world. Combined with aggregated data from our clients' analytics packages, and other sources of traffic data, it gives us a view of what content and site factors are driving attention online, both earned and purchased.
Auditor
While Map Generator and Search Monitor focus on the macro scale, Auditor works by understanding individual sites, no matter how large. By crawling and assessing the site's structure, traffic, strength in search, and HTML, it generates actions with measurable traffic or conversion increases attached, alongside a comprehensive list of site pages for human analysis and intervention.
