Our online strategies are driven by detail, & focus on improving our clients’ businesses

Many organisations distribute their digital activity across several different business units. This often leads to a situation where opportunities are missed, or the same work is carried out more than once.

An overarching strategy co-ordinates different personnel, platforms, and tools in order to deliver real business benefits. The various services listed in this section are the most common ways in which Mavens assists businesses to design such a system.

Ensuring your business makes the most of the online opportunity.

Online Strategy

A full strategy is based on a comprehensive research programme, both internally and externally, auditing for business needs, current performance, and key stakeholder. This is then translated into a high-level plan of activity, a set of ROI calculations and targets, and a suggested structure for both management and governance.

This structure is then presented to, and revised with, senior management, and, once agreed, implemented in the business. The high-level plan is then developed, with the new management structure, into a schedule of specific tactics to be implemented over a twelve-month period, with effort requirements, any partnerships that need to be developed, and expected outcomes at each stage.

Depending on the specific needs of a given client, the strategy may be a project, or a living programme with attached measurement, and supported by ongoing optimisation.

Helping your business culture to embrace digital.

Change Management

Dealing with the use of digital across a large company, either nationally or globally, brings with it its own set of challenges. Effective use of various online tools, and the ubiquity of peer-to-peer social communications, requires a very modern culture and set of guidelines. Mavens of London is well placed to help with this.

Working from a basis of stakeholder engagement at all levels of a business, we are able to offer a range of training, business organisation, and documentation of all types, in a range of languages. Whether our task requires creating a cross-functional group for external activity, or understanding internal infrastructure and personal development needs, we provide support that enables businesses to make the options offered by modern communications into an advantage, rather than a problem.

Our change management programmes are usually run on a project basis, and last around three months to carry out an initial audit, and then put in place new guidelines and a digital-friendly infrastructure.

Building an online business model.

Business Strategy

The modern web has seen the advent of a number of different forms of online transactions and business models. Micro-transactions, self-publishing, 'ransom' purchases, and many forms of online auctions form only a small part of the available options. One of our key services is helping companies to develop their own revenue models to create new lines of business specifically or the Internet.

This form of strategy development involves extensive engagement with business stakeholders and customers. It looks at current business models and how they can be translated online, as well as alternate models that might be suggested by our clients’ various resources. Combining this with an examination of the potential market’s size, and customer appetite, we then present a range of potential options for building a viable online element to a business.

This form of project activity can vary hugely in scale and time, based on the nature and size of our client’s business, but a guideline of eight weeks to four months is generally appropriate.

Goal Setting

A key challenge for a major business is in setting realistic and unbiased targets for their online presence. Often, partners are asked to assess their own actions - a clear conflict of interests - or goals are set without a full understanding of the online environment.

With its speciality in research and measurement, Mavens of London is well placed to take an impartial look at a given strategy, and match it with an appropriate forecast for agreed measures. On an ongoing basis, we are capable of tracking progress against this forecast, explaining the reasons behind successes and challenges, and helping to improve activity. This service gives measurement a voice at the strategy table.
